My Techniques
At Authentic Wellness & Empowerment, we use a comprehensive blend of evidence-based, holistic, and empowerment-driven therapeutic techniques to support our clients in their healing journey. Our approach is tailored to each individual's unique needs, integrating a combination of traditional psychotherapy, trauma-informed care, and holistic wellness practices to promote deep and lasting transformation.

My Approach
At Authentic Wellness & Empowerment, our approach is rooted in the belief that true healing extends beyond just mental health—it encompasses emotional, relational, physical, and financial well-being. Led by Dr. Curtis Taylor, PhD, LPC, LPCC, NCC, our work is guided by a holistic, client-centered, and empowerment-focused philosophy that honors each individual’s unique journey.

✔ Trauma-Informed & Culturally Responsive Care – We recognize the impact of past experiences and create a safe, supportive space that fosters healing, trust, and self-discovery.
✔ Strength-Based & Collaborative Approach – Instead of focusing solely on problems, we help clients recognize their inner strengths and resilience to create lasting transformation.
✔ Evidence-Based & Holistic Techniques – We integrate CBT, EMDR, EFT, mindfulness, and wellness coaching to promote comprehensive healing and balance.
✔ Personalized & Client-Centered Growth – Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. We tailor every session to each client’s individual needs, values, and aspirations.
✔ Empowerment as a Core Principle – Our goal is to help clients cope and equip them with the tools to thrive—emotionally, relationally, and financially.
✔ A Whole-Person Healing Model – Mental health is deeply connected to other areas of life. We incorporate self-care, wellness, and financial empowerment to ensure sustainable success.

Through this integrative and empowerment-driven approach, we help individuals, couples, and communities break barriers, rewrite their stories, and create a life of fulfillment, balance, and well-being.
What We Offer

Challenges and Concerns
These are just some of the areas I can help you with
Adjustments
You have never experienced what you are experiencing here and now. This can be daunting.
Anger
Too often, others do not believe, think, or behave as we know “they should.”
Anxiety
We can be good at considering the “what ifs,” maybe too good.
Executive Function
Making plans, carrying out a plan, adjusting. Some people make it look so easy.
Disappointment
Seeing our expectations go unrealized can be dizzying and demoralizing.
Discouragement
When what we want seems out of reach, it is painful to think about coming up short again.
Depression
When our self-talk is filled with thoughts of “I should” or “I should not,” it will likely feel very heavy.
Excuse Making
We can explain what happened, and we can decide if we are going to change what happens next.
Relationships
I hurt, you hurt, how can I listen to you, and you listen to me? How can I help myself, help you, and help us?
Fear
Tell me what or who upsets you, and I will tell you what you fear.
Disrespect
Sometimes, we and others can be so unkind.
Shame
That moment can become a memory you move past.
Grief and Loss
Ouch. I’m sorry. How do we move forward now that things are different?
Responsibility
Blaming, complaining, and criticizing others will never resolve your issue.
Spirituality
Faith can sometimes make situations easier or more difficult to understand.
Stress
Feeling burned out, overwhelmed, or pulled in too many directions is unsustainable.
Time Management
Who sets your schedule, and how do you make sure you are doing what you want to be doing?
Trauma
When it is too much to process or unclear how to process it, it will continue to affect you.
